Teams
from 39 countries will take part in European Judo Championship
April
13, 2009 was the last day for those who would want to applicate for European
Judo Championship that will take place in Tbilisi, Georgia. Teams from 39
European countries will challenge each other on 3 tatamis, in Tbilisi Sports
Palace. Most of them already named their squads. According to Georgian Judo
Federation almost all the major title holder sportsmen around the Europe
will arrive.
For
the title of European Champion 2009 will fight Olympic Champions Ole
Bischoff (81 kg, Germany); Illias Illiadis (81 kg, Greece); Ihar Makarau
(100 kg, Belarus);
World Champions: Ruben Houkes (60 kg, Netherlands); Guillaume Elmont (81 kg,
Netherlands); Teddy Riner (+100 kg, France); Aleksandr Michailin (+100 kg,
Russia);
European Champions: Ludwig Peischer (60 kg, Austria); Dirk Van Tichelt (73
kg, Belgium); Joao Neto (81 kg, Portugal); Henk Grol (100 kg, Netherlands);
Robert Kravchik (81 kg, Polland); Daniel Hadfi (100 kg, Hungary); Ivan
Pershin (90 kg, Russia); Andreas Tolzer (+100 kg, Germany); Armen Nazaryan
(60 kg, Armenia); David Alarza (90 kg, Spain); Kiyoshi Uematsu (73 kg,
Spain); Ariel Zeevi (100 kg, Israel); Miklas Ungvar (66 kg, Hungary).
